Good Fit for Veteran Agent
After working with RE/MAX for 17 years, Barbara Delgleize wanted to try something new.
In 2003, she left the network to join another Real Estate firm as a co-owner of an office with three other women. It seemed like the perfect opportunity. But Delgleize quickly realized it was nothing like what she knew as an Associate with RE/MAX.
“A lot of people at the other firm seemed to think real estate was easy,” Delgleize
says. “I don’t think they had a game plan for their business, and expected their broker to do everything for them. I was disheartened and naïve.”
At RE/MAX, that wasn’t the case, Delgleize says. “At RE/MAX, I was surrounded by people who worked their business,” she says. “That’s why RE/MAX attracts top producers and quality agents.”
Although she thought the other Real Estate Firms' concept was intriguing and the company offered exciting programs, Delgleize returned to RE/MAX in December as a
Broker Associate with RE/MAX Select One in Huntington Beach, Calif.
Since then, she hasn’t looked back. “I’m very happy to be with RE/MAX again,” says
Delgleize (ABR, CRS, PRC, SRES, SRS). “I’ve been going nonstop – I had one of my best Januarys ever. Business is good.”
Others may be considering a similar move, but Delgleize, a RE/MAX Hall of Fame member,
cautions people to closely evaluate their business, the market and the numbers
before making a hasty – and costly – decision. The 32-year real estate veteran advises
Associates to consider what they would lose by leaving a network that provides the
types of tools, education and brand name awareness offered by RE/MAX.
“If someone wants to be successful long-term in this industry and have more
say in how their business is run, RE/MAX is the way to go,” Delgleize says.
